SAIS Acquired by Shaw Pipeline Services

On April 23, 2014, Shaw Pipeline Services completed the acquisition of Scotia Automated Inspection Services Ltd. (SAIS), a leading provider of non-destructive testing (NDT) services to customers in the North Sea region.

Founded in 2001 and located in Alness, Scotland, SAIS provides its customers with radiographic weld inspection and other inspection services for spoolbases and fabrication facilities in the North Sea region.  SAIS will report to Bud McDonald, General Manager of SPS’s Offshore business. 

By combining the SAIS core team of highly respected NDT specialists with the SPS advanced ultrasonic and digital radiography technology, ShawCor will strengthen its presence in the offshore pipeline weld inspection space.

We welcome Jan Terlouw, Jim King and the entire SAIS team to the ShawCor family.

SAIS launches new website

SAIS launches new website 21 March 2008. In response to the need for a fresh website, SAIS has updated its online presence to more accurately mirror the company's own fresh and uncluttered approach to conventional NDT. Along with the redesign came a complete overhaul of content, the emphasis being on quality and simplicity. SAIS also took the opportunity to commission a more contemporary logo for online use.

The easy to navigate site, delivers the SAIS vision and clearly communicates the aspirations of Jim King and Jan Terlouw to potential clients.
